Teachers of the departments “Environment and Chemical Technologies” and “Languages, Literature and Journalism” conducted a joint study on the role of “green” media in shaping the environmental awareness and ecological culture of modern society.

The study was carried out as part of the implementation of the state program “Ruhanizhangyru”. The program includes a special project “TuganZher”, which aims to solve social problems by involving citizens in the development and ennobling of their native land. Preserving the "small homeland" as particles of the big world is the noble mission of any society. “We did not inherit the Earth from our ancestors. We borrowed it from our children ”says a Mexican proverb.

It is the “green” media that are the main source of information for the dissemination of environmental knowledge among the population. Journalism takes a leading place in the formation of an ecologized worldview for a wide readership and audience. Therefore, it became logical to combine the scientific potential of these two departments of the university.

The results of the study are being prepared for publication in a journal included in the Scopus database (DB), which will increase the international rating of scientists from departments and the university as a whole.

Note: “Green” media are newspapers, magazines, newsletters, digests and other periodicals (both print and electronic), radio and television programs that specialize in covering various aspects and problems of ecology and environmental protection.

The functions of green media include:

• reporting on existing environmental issues;
• dissemination of scientific information;
• formulation of recommendations for specific actions.

The main objective of the "green" media is to promote environmental awareness, environmental literacy and environmental culture of the population.
