The European Commission has signed the contract of a new project on the modernization of education in 15 universities from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and in 4 European universities from Bulgaria, Italy, Portugal and Luxembourg. The universities from Kazakhstan represented in the project consortium are: Innovative university of Eurasia, Almaty Technological University, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, as well as the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan The initiator of the project and project coordinator is the University of Ruse – a Bulgarian higher education institution with a 20 year long experience in the management of similar large scale projects. The main project aim is to modernise the higher education system in Central Asia through the use of new technologies. The University of Ruse will share both its Programme for Adapting the Educational System to the Digital Generation through Active Implementation of ICT-based Innovative Education Technologies and its draft of the National Programme for Digital Transformation of Education within the consortium. The Handbook of Innovative Educational Technologies of the University of Ruse will be adapted to fit the purposes of the project and will be translated into Russian and English. An interactive multimedia version of this handbook, which will be available to all interested parties, will be published on the Internet. A Centre for Innovative Educational Technologies will be created in each of the Central Asian partner universities. These centres will follow the model of the Centre for Innovative Educational Technologies of the University of Ruse -//ciot.uni-ruse.bg/.Another project output will be the creation of study halls of the future which will be equipped in a similar fashion as the study halls of the University of Ruse that are tailored to meet the needs of digital learners. By signing the project contract the European Commission once again showed that the digital transformation of education is one of the key priorities of the European Commission – a fact that Mariya Gabriel, the Commissioner for Digitalization, has repeatedly stressed in her speeches and interviews.
The Innovative University of Eurasia has launched an online advanced training course for teachers on innovative educational technologies and didactic models for faculty.
The program is designed in accordance with the project Modernization of Higher Education in Central Asia Through New Technologies (HiEdTec). Under the current conditions, experience and knowledge on the application of innovative educational technologies of our partner countries and coordinators turned out to be the most relevant and in demand. At the course, the students were presented with the Concept of adapting the system of higher and postgraduate education to the digital generation and the program of the extension course.
At the seminar, we teach teachers to conduct classes online, develop video materials and use various Web-2.0 services in training. We express our gratitude to our coordinators: Professor of the Rosen University, Angel Smrikarov, for the materials provided, and Tatyana Smrikarova, for organizing the participation of Asian universities in the project.
One of the crucial moments of the project "Higher Education in Central Asia through New Technologies" (HiEdTec) of the Erasmus program came in the second year of implementation. This is the training of trainers and tutors * InEU for blended and distance learning in the context of digitalization of education.
At the InEU Center for Innovative Educational Technologies, 10 trainers, active university teachers, were trained remotely, who will train 100 tutors in the use of innovative educational technologies and didactic models in the context of adapting education to the digital generation.
Trainers from different fields have been selected so that they can take into account the specifics of teaching the subject: these are teachers, biologists, computer scientists, mechanical engineers, economists, and e-Learning specialists.
On April 8, an organizational seminar was held for trainers to discuss training of tutors *. Starting next week!
For advanced training, there is access to the virtual library of the Ruse University (Bulgaria). We also developed our own platform //online.ineu.kz, which is replenished with materials in accordance with the features of training in Kazakhstan.
The situation with a total transition to distance learning of university students has identified new challenges and opportunities for teachers and students. The two-week experience of “continuous” distant communication showed that thorough preparation for the tutor's educational process is required, which requires registration of any kind of interaction with the student as an information product.
To develop such skills among tutors, we conducted a refresher course according to the Higher Education in Central Asia through New Technologies (HiEdTec) project under the Erasmus + program.
Classes were held at Zoom. Materials were posted on the platform //online.ineu.kz
The problems of distance learning and the concept of adapting the educational system to the digital generation were considered. Students learned how to use interactive and virtual whiteboard tools, cloud-based training and test creation services, a virtual room, video conferencing tools, interesting presentation creation chips, how to record a video lecture and publish it, methods of organizing completely remote and blended learning, as well as features implementation of design work in distance education.
We tried to organize networking, we invite you to discuss distance learning issues and study the course materials.
Open access to the rich virtual library was provided to us by our esteemed partners, project coordinators of the University of Rousse (Bulgaria). Having entered the site https://hiedtec.ecs.uni-ruse.bg/,
you need to click on the Virtual Library, then select the topic of interest to you and click on it.
Minister M.M. Daulenov, Director of the Department of Higher and Postgraduate Education A.Zh. Toybaev, rectors of universities in Kazakhstan. As part of the meeting agenda, the Innovative Eurasian University presented its experience in organizing the control of students' knowledge using the blind assessment method. Our university was one of the first in the Republic to introduce this method. The peculiarity of this method is, firstly, that the subject teacher does not participate in the written examination; secondly, evaluating the written work, the subject teacher does not know which of the students they belong to; thirdly, the communication between the teacher and the student is non-contact in nature and does not go beyond the boundaries of the personal account. The advantages of this method are its focus on increasing the transparency of the knowledge assessment system and strengthening the anti-corruption climate in the university environment. The experience of InEU was positively evaluated by the participants of the on-line meeting of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The presented presentation of InEU will be made public on a special portal of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
For the first time, the blind assessment method was tested by us in the framework of the winter examination session of the 2019-2020 academic year, which aroused great interest among the university public, and in the future, from the republican media.

On May 18, 2020, the researchers of the project took part in the international scientific-theoretical conference "Actual problems of international relations, socio-economic and humanities in the digital age", organized by Osh State University (Osh, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan). With a speech at the plenary meeting, Abykenova D.B spoke about the changes that have occurred in the field of higher education in the Republic of Kazakhstan, after the transition to distance learning. They demonstrated the experience of introducing distance learning at the Innovative University of Eurasia to Kyrgyz colleagues. The transition to distance learning completely influenced the organization of the educational process. Technical and organizational problems arose that had to be solved quickly and efficiently. Obviously, the reaction of students and the perception of a new form of training were mixed. In this regard, a survey was conducted among students and the teaching staff, the results of which were taken into account when organizing further training. In general, the transition to distance learning can be considered successful.
The question about the implementation of the project “DUAL EDUCATION FOR INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION AND ROBOTICS IN KAZAKHSTAN / DIARKAZ” of the Erazmus + program was also highlighted. This project has been implemented since January 2020, the main result of the project is the development of a new educational program “Automation and Robotics”, which is taught using dual training technology, in close collaboration with industrial enterprises in Pavlodar.
