The department "Energy and Metallurgy" always actively cooperates with many colleagues from friendly universities in the framework of the program of academic mobility. So February began with pleasant events - with lectures on energy-saving topics we were visited by a doctor of technical sciences, professor of the Orel State University named after I.S. Turgeneva Alexander N. Kachanov - Academician of AES RF, Honored Worker of Higher School of the Russian Federation.

Having outlined the situation about the level of education in Russia, he compared it with our system in Kazakhstan. Alexander Nikolaevich had something to tell, because Until 2000, he himself lived and worked in Pavlodar. After his move to the city of Oryol, he initiated the creation of the Department of Electrical Equipment and Energy Saving at a large Russian university, gathered like-minded people around him, many were newcomers and, fortunately, had the appropriate education (and, by the way, most of them were from Pavlodar). Professor Kachanov also participated in the opening of the University of the Oryol Regional Center for Energy Saving, whose task was to develop a unified technical policy and documentation, introduce energy metering devices, create and use energy-efficient technologies, equipment and materials. Today, the OREC performs 38 types of work in the fuel and energy complex, Alexander Nikolaevich proudly told how to earn money for 20 million rubles. they purchased a whole building for the university, also among the achievements of the Center - replacing all windows in the main building with plastic ones, while 10-13% of thermal energy was saved. Also students and colleagues Kachanova A.N. participated in the development of a system of supervisory control and commercial metering of energy resources and built a small-scale wind power installation.

Alexander Nikolaevich also spoke about the problems of his department, which he has been managing for 19 years, praised our Pavlodar region for a huge number of places for students of technical specialties, complained that there are a large number of universities and students in his region, which is certainly great, but very few enterprises, many are closed.

Students and teachers of InEU attended lectures and participated in a dialogue with a guest of the department, the guys discussed the issue of academic mobility of students, and teachers were interested in an internship at faculty at Oryol University.

In conclusion, Alexander Nikolayevich wished our students great scientific discoveries and active participation in student conferences, in particular, invited them to become participants in the International Conference “Energy and Resource Saving: XXI Century” held in Oryol (the journal with published articles of the conference is indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index of RSCI , work is underway on entering the Scopus base).

Summing up the meeting, we can say that our international cooperation is successfully continuing!
