The work of the team led by Maral Aitmagambetova, a journalism teacher at InEU @ph_and_j, was recognized as one of the best projects to promote media literacy in Central Asia.
She was awarded the diploma of the Central Asian Media Festival “Media camp fest 2021” for the educational project “Know Media!”: debates among schoolchildren and students”. The project “Know Media!” went on for 6 months in an online format throughout Kazakhstan. It included a Media Literacy School for Kazakhstani students and schoolchildren and an interregional open debate tournament. The audience of the project was on average from 12 to 22 years old. About 600 young men and women participated in the informational meetings. 15% identified themselves as bloggers or future journalists. The project was implemented with the support of #USAID and @internewskz.
