For the first time in InEU! Digital Journalism is Journalism of the 21st Century!
Representatives of regional media discussed the innovative educational program of InEU "Digital Journalism".
It is not a secret that the employer is waiting for the perfect graduate to give him or her the camera and get ready-made material with high-quality editing of video, sound and interactive elements. Innovative University of Eurasia is focused on strengthening the professional competencies of graduates. At the Department of Languages, Literature and Journalism the training is planned for the educational program "Digital Journalism".
Bibigul Kildibekova, the moderator of the meeting, introduced everyone to the content of the new educational program and invited participants to discuss problematic issues in preparing future journalists. Guests of the meeting were Vladimir Dolgushev, editor-in-chief of the regional newspaper «Zvezda Priirtyshya», and Kundiz Kabyldyonova, columnist for the regional newspaper «Saryarqa samaly».
Vladimir Dolgushev, editor-in-chief of the regional edition, confirmed the general trend of the digitalization of the profession and talked about changing the orientations of modern journalism. So, newspapers are increasingly changing the format towards analytics:
- The advantage of the Digital Journalism educational program is the introduction of new disciplines with an emphasis on modern digital media and social networks.. Undoubtedly, for a journalist, regardless of the field of work, the main thing is responsibility and professionalism; it is from them that the main value of any journalist is - the trust of its audience: The name of a journalist is a special brand!
Kamar Karimova, head of the department “Languages, Literature and Journalism”, considers priority in preparing future journalists to increase the level of their practical skills and coordinate the educational process with employers:
– It was important for us to offer competitive disciplines that will help future graduates in professional fulfillment.
As the key disciplines of the profession, graduate students indicated convergent journalism, television journalism, the basics of advertising and PR. The new discipline “Media and Information Literacy” (MIG) also meets the new standards of the profession. The leaders of regional media are interested in its teaching. The introduction of “Media and Information Literacy” is carried out as part of a project to promote media literacy, according to which Maral Aitmagambetova, a senior lecturer of the department, received grant financing. In the near future it is planned to create video cases for this discipline.
The content of the innovative educational program has been approved by employers. We are waiting for future journalists at InEU!
