A grand opening of the “English club” was held in InEU
InEU hosted the grand opening of the English Language Club “English Club”. About 50 visitors gathered for the presentation – students and teachers of InEU, students of Higher College of InEU, pupils from schools № 9, 21, 25, 36, 39. The whole event was held in English language.
The symbolic red ribbon at the entrance to the club was cut by the Rector of InEU Anastassiya Aliyassova and an English teacher from the USA Matthew Linz. They said that students of the InEU consortium (university and college), as well as students of grades 10-11 of Pavlodar schools will study at the club for free.
Matthew Linz talked to the guests, told about himself and his native state of Maryland. He asked the students what they were interested in and what they wanted to hear in the “English club”. Together they watched and discussed a film about American cuisine.
The first-year students of the “Translation studies” program provided great assistance in organizing this event. They prepared a quiz in English, following the example of a TV show. The guests were divided into 2 teams. They answered questions on history, literature and other topics.
The presentation of the club ended with a tea party with pizza and sweets.
