InEU students completed the semester at Anshan Pedagogical University
InEU students study in the framework of academic mobility at universities around the world. Wroclaw University of Environmental Engineering (Wroclaw (Poland), University of Porto (Porto, Portugal), Iasi A. I. Cuza University (Iasi, Romania) and more than 20 universities that go to school every year future bachelors.
The first semester of the 2019-2020 academic year, the best students of the 2nd year of the specialty "Foreign Language" studied at the Anshan Pedagogical University of China. Anastasia Molotorenko, a student of the Department of Languages, Literature and Journalism, shared her impressions of this unique country, its customs, culture and inhabitants.
I spent the whole 4 months in the small town of Anshan, Liaoning Province, for a semester I became a student at Anshan Pedagogical University. APU is an international family of students from all over the world: Australia, India, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Russia, Turkey, the USA.
Every day we had 4 classes: 综 课 - grammar, 听力 - listening, 口语 - speaking and 阅读 - reading. All lessons took place only in Chinese. Only 2 teachers could sometimes speak English. It was difficult, but over time we got used to it. In addition, we were assigned to Chinese students who helped to overcome the language barrier. Every day after class, we practiced spoken Chinese and tightened the grammar.
In addition to the language, we are pleased to get acquainted with the cultural and culinary traditions of this great country. I really liked the Chinese cuisine. The most famous Chinese dishes include fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, Peking duck and noodles. Modern Chinese cuisine uses some foreign ingredients, but the traditional base remains unchanged. It's no secret that most Chinese dishes are eaten with two chopsticks. Learning how to use chopsticks was a big deal, but now I really like to use chopsticks for a meal.
Special mention requires Chinese tea. In modern China, the tradition of tea ceremonies is slightly losing popularity, although there are numerous tea houses in the country that are visited by millions of tourists. For tea use small bowls that should not remain empty. Aromatic tea is often poured into them, and guests thank the hosts with a tap of the table. In our free time, we visited many places in Anshan: parks, temples, shopping centers, cafes. By the way, in Anshan is the largest Jade Buddha, which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records!
The Chinese are very friendly, they will always help, they are calm, but they can quickly respond to the situation. And they also like to learn new things, we talked a lot about Kazakhstan, about our customs and traditions. The Chinese, like us, like to be photographed with foreigners .. I was also lucky to visit the capital of China and see its sights.
I am grateful to my beloved department and the InEU international department for the invaluable experience and opportunity to open the world of the Celestial Empire! I believe that in the future I will have more than one internship!
I want to express my big thanks to InEU for such a great opportunity and all my teachers, who believed in me and shared their knowledge on the languages! 我祝你们工作顺利和身体健康!
