Autumn IT-school for children with hearing and speech impairment
Autumn IT-school for children with hearing and speech impairment started in Pavlodar. The main goal is to instill in children an interest in information technology, to acquaint with different areas of computer science.
The faculty and specialized staff of the university work with participants. For barrier-free training, the course accompanies an audio teacher from a boarding school No.1 for children with hearing and speech impairments. Classes are held using interactive teaching methods, specially developed teaching materials. In the process of training, teachers change the tactics of presenting the material depending on its complexity. From theory to practical tasks that students perform under the guidance of teachers. Courses are accompanied by a sign language interpreter. According to the teacher, there are some difficulties in transmitting information to children since programming has its own terminology, which is not easy to convey.
Courses began on October 28 and will last until the 1st of November. Children themselves absorb new information with interest. Thirteen children from 8 to 10 grades are studying at this stage. The following courses will take place during the winter holidays.
