The zoom conference “Religious Tolerance and Interfaith Harmony” was held in InEU.

The zoom conference “Religious Tolerance and Interfaith Harmony” was held in InEU. Zholdas kazhy Kospakuly, the chief imam of the regional central mosque “Mashkhur Zhusip” spoke to the students and teachers, of whom more than 70 people gathered at the screens.

-   Islam calls for peace, kindness, tolerance, harmony. A Muslim should not harm other people, - says Zholdas kazhy. – If you want to know Islam, come to the mosque and ask knowledgeable people. But our young people now mostly sit on the Internet, in social networks. They find there all kinds of sermons, lectures – audio and video.
Be careful in this matter! If a preacher does not have a work permit in Kazakhstan, but there are his sermons on the Internet, we cannot ban him. Therefore, come to the mosque and ask: I am listening to such a preacher; can I listen to him further or not? You have to determine in order not to get lost further.
One example is the word “jihad”. The ignorant say that jihad is murder, a war with the infidels. The semantic translation of this word is struggle. But a struggle with whom? The first is the struggle with oneself. You must conquer your vices and passions. The second is the protection of one’s homeland. Not to attack, but to defend.
The imam also noted that the mosque is actively in contact with other faiths. Meetings, discussions, celebrations and friendly tea parties are held regularly.
-   I always say that we have different religions, but there is only one shanyrak – Kazakhstan. Therefore, the well-being and development of Kazakhstan depends on every citizen, on every religious figure. So that it strengthens harmony, - the imam is convinced. He also expressed his willingness to meet with the students again.
Zholdas kazhy Kospakuly – Imam of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan in Pavlodar region, theologian, employee of the Department of Religious Affairs of Pavlodar region.
Religious tolerance is a public consciousness that allows the legitimacy of multiple religious traditions.
