On November 30, 2020, a webinar for students and teachers of InEU “HIV infection and prevention measures” was held on the ZOOM platform. The webinar was held ahead of World AIDS Day, which is celebrated annually on December 1.

Gulsum Baizhanovna Turdinova, teacher of the Pavlodar Regional Center for Prevention and Control of AIDS, shared information about the history of HIV infection, transmission routes, symptoms, told what tests can be used to detect HIV, how to avoid infection and answered all the students' questions.

Gulsum Baizhanovna also mentioned sad statistics: according to her, Pavlodar region ranks first in the number of registered HIV-infected citizens among other regions of Kazakhstan (as of November 1, 2020 - 3515 people). In this regard, the speaker recommended taking precautions and, if symptoms appear, immediately contact specialized institutions for analysis.
