Anastassiya Aliyassova, Rector of InEU, shared her experience in implementing Kazakh-American projects with her Kazakh colleagues.

Anastassiya Aliyassova, Rector of InEU, shared her experience in implementing Kazakh-American projects with her Kazakh colleagues. She was a speaker at the training “Internationalization of higher education: effective partnership of universities of Kazakhstan and the USA”, held at Toraighyrov University. She spoke about InEU projects funded by the U.S. Embassy to develop regional STEM education, women’s and youth entrepreneurship.

The three-day training gathered heads of major Kazakhstani universities in Pavlodar. The current topics of training top managers of Kazakhstani universities in the USA, attracting American scientists to Kazakhstan, teaching domestic students abroad on academic mobility were considered.

Participants were welcomed by: Amber Aura, Attache for Culture and Education of the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan, Banu Narbekova, Deputy Director of the Department of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and rectors of universities of Pavlodar, Almaty and Aktau.

The main training “When Cultures Meet” (culture of dialogue) was conducted by American partners: Susan Stewart, President of Susan Stewart and Associates LLC, Ronald Wiley, Director of Central Asia Resource Exchange International, Inc., Janine Wiley, Master of Leadership in Organization, Azuza Pacific University.

Training “When Cultures Meet” taught the participants to make the most of the opportunities arising from the interaction of two or more cultures. Colleagues from Toraighyrov University presented U.S. government exchange programs: Fulbright, ELF, APS, small grants.

All this knowledge will help participating universities to develop cooperation with American colleagues, increase their competitiveness, and most importantly – to give their students relevant knowledge that is in demand in the global labor market.
