Alikhan Smailov became the new Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

Alikhan Smailov became the new Prime Minister of Kazakhstan. Previously, he served as First Deputy Prime Minister. His candidacy was proposed to the Majilis of the country's Parliament by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.


By the way, the candidacy was approved unanimously during the speech of the President of the country in the Majilis. The previous Prime Minister, Askar Mamin, and his government resigned amid protests and unrest in the country.
